DemonTHON is a year-long fundraising organization, benefiting Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago that culminates in a 24-hour student-run Dance Marathon every spring. Throughout the duration of the year, DemonTHON hosts events on campus and throughout the City of Chicago that engage students at DePaul University and families that are being treated at Lurie Children’s Hospital.
As a team leader, its my responsibility to facilitate a personal group, fundraise money, and promote the event across the University. I created a team of followers called Delson's Disciples that spent months canning money and creating events that promoted our goal. Over time, each member raised over 150$ which helped the hospital in many ways. For the end of DemonThon, we did a 24 hour dance marathon with the pariticipants we contributed to. Some kids gave talks while others enjoyed the time with us. In the end, my team helped raise over $250,000 making us the first school Chicago to raise over $1,000,000 in less than 5 years.
$274,877.77 was raised on April 29th and 30th, bringing DemonTHON's 5-year total to EXACTLY $1,000,000.00!
